The Mean Eyed Cat is pleased to introduce our Startup Grind guest speaker for February, Mr. Kerry Thacher.

Kerry's entrepreneurial career began in 1988, when he co-founded and acted as CEO for Ubitrex Corporation. The company

developed a system to automate the capture of clinical data collected by nursing staff. The company was venture capital

backed and was acquired by Continental Healthcare Systems of Overland Park Kansas in 1994. Kerry was responsible for

Continental's Canadian operations until 1996, when he founded and became CEO of AirWire Mobile Technologies, a company

involved in the development and manufacturing of hand held devices for the health care marketplace. In 1999, AirWire was

purchased by Symbol Technologies Inc., a New York-based global leader in the Enterprise Mobility market, and Kerry was

named the company's Vice President responsible for Symbol's Winnipeg operations, which developed a variety of mobile

computing products that achieved revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Today, Kerry is the CEO and founder of Librestream Technologies Inc.  He is a graduate Electrical Engineer and MBA from the University of Manitoba

About Librestream:
The Librestream vision of "providing a way for teams to effectively collaborate on ‘things’ and environments virtually" came from the founders’ direct experience in developing mobile technologies and witnessing the high costs and delays caused by inefficient communications. Flying specialists to various locations to resolve issues that needed only 15 minutes of attention proved to be costly in both time and money. The team questioned the possibility of solving problems and providing the solutions remotely, which resulted in the formation of Librestream in 2003. After a couple of years of research and development, Onsight was launched into the market in 2006.

Librestream’s initial customers were Fortune 500 enterprises with demanding security, bandwidth control, and collaboration workflow requirements.  Librestream enhanced the Onsight Collaboration Platform to provide an enterprise-grade offering to satisfy their customer and their requirements.  These customers include some of the most innovative brands in their industries. Since then, the Onsight Collaboration Platform has been extensively advanced to include a full range of collaboration products and is now available on over 10 Million devices globally, bringing the eyes and ears of experts into the field virtually all over the world.
